I know that acne and more commonly associated with teens, but no one is immune to being afflicted with acne. I think that most people at some point in life have been a victim of an acne attack. A acne outbreak can be mild or it can take on a more severe effect. If you let your outbreak go untreated it can be physically and emotionally scaring. Now i would like to show you in thirteen steps how you could get rid of acne whether you are dealing with whiteheads, blackheads, pimples or other blemishes.
Ok my first tip is to unclog your pores. You should use a salicylic acid cleanser. Did you know that acne begins to form when your pores become clogged with a plug of sebum and keratin. Now the salicylic acid that i recommended will loosens the plug by softening the keratin.
My second tip is to use benzoyl peroxide. Peroxide is a good compound for killing the bacteria that can multiply in your large pores. When bacteria gets in your large pores it causes pus-filled bumps and inflamation that are the hallmark of acne.
Now you have some options you can use soap, cream or gel containing benzoyl peroxide atleast twice a day. You can supplement the treatment with a non-comedogenic moisturize in order to prevent irritation and dryness. If this doesnt work and your skin still gets irritated you could use a product that has a much lower benzoyl peroxide concentration. when you are using benzoyl peroxide you should be careful not to get it on your clothing or hair because it bleaches both.
My third tip for you is to choose product that contain chlorhexidine gluconate or triclosan. These ingredients that are active happen to be less effective than the benzoyl peroxide i recommended earlier but they are gentler on your skin.
My fourth tip is to apply clove oil to your acne affected skin. This substance has demonstrated effectiveness against acne-causing bacteria.
My fifth tip is to rub tea tree oil on pimples. Using tea tree oil can kill any residual bacteria, which can reduce your acne inflammation considerably.
My sixth and final tip is to look for a treatment that has sodium sulfacetamide and sulfur as their active ingredients. Using a treatment with this combination has been shown to be able to reduce acne with only mild side effects. While the exact way in which sulfur reduces acne is unknown, it is known to be a keratolytic, like salicylic acid.
